A friendlier way to think about personality.
What Typestry is, how the test works, and the principles behind it.
What Typestry is
Typestry is a free, friendly personality test and a growing library of writing about the sixteen types. Our aim is simple: to help people understand themselves and the people around them — without jargon, without judgement, and without turning personality into a horoscope.
How the test works
Our test is built on a well-known framework of four preference pairs: where you get your energy, how you take in information, how you make decisions, and how you structure your life. The questions are our own original writing. We score your answers into a four-letter type and explain what it means in plain English.
Our philosophy
- Types are starting points, not prisons. A label should open doors, not close them.
- Everyone's a mix. We present preferences as dials, not either/or boxes.
- Kindness over certainty. We'd rather be warm than right, and honest than flattering.
